Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO)
Craig Maccubbin serves as the Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO) at WestJet, where he leads technology strategy, operations, cyber security, solutions delivery, and data and analytics across the global reach of the company. Mr. Maccubbin is an advocate for business growth through the strategic and innovative use of technology.
Prior to joining WestJet, he was Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Southwest Airlines, where he was responsible for the core technology of the airline; Craig is proud to have played a key role in the founding of the Aviation Information Sharing and Analysis Center (A-ISAC), a group focused on cyber threat intelligence sharing across the global aviation industry, where he served as Vice Chairman and then Chairman.
Prior to joining Southwest, Craig served in several senior leadership roles across various industries: he was the CIO at Spirit Airlines; the CTO at Zeta Interactive, a top digital marketing agency with customers like US Airways, Mattel, JP Morgan Chase, Sony, Time Inc., and Warner Music Group; the CTO at LasVegas.com, a joint venture of the major Las Vegas casino groups; SVP and CTO at Blockbuster; and CTO at Black Entertainment Television. Previously, Mr. Maccubbin built a large consulting practice focused on enterprise systems development for clients like Nationwide Insurance, Verizon, Sprint, Mercedes Benz, and the US Department of Education. Craig began his career in technology working for the US Navy and the US General Services Administration.
