GBTA Canada Conference – COVID-19 Response & Protocols

COVID-19 Response & Protocols

** Updated as of April 22, 2022 **

In accordance with the provincial and municipal lifting of Covid-19 restrictions and protocols in Toronto, Ontario, GBTA Canada is UPDATING our Covid-19 protocols for attendance at GBTA Conference 2022 – Toronto, taking place May 2 & 3 at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel to the following:

  • Proof of vaccination is NO LONGER required for conference attendance
  • Upon registration on-site at the conference, delegates will be required to complete a Covid-19 Health Check Questionnaire before receiving their badge
  • Should a delegate have symptoms, been knowingly exposed to someone who has tested positive with Covid-19 within 7 days, or develops symptoms while at the conference, GBTA Canada respectfully requires that individual withdraw their participation thus eliminating exposure and risk to conference attendees, event, and hotel staff
  • Masks will be worn by Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel staff, however, are not mandatory for conference delegates or hotel guests
  • Masks however are strongly recommended to be worn throughout the conference, when not eating or drinking, to help prevent the spread of Covid-19.  GBTA Canada will have masks available for delegates at the conference registration desk
  • GBTA Canada has made significant efforts to provide additional physical spacing where possible within the conference program, to help provide ample distance options for the comfort of our delegates

GBTA Canada reserves the right to change these protocols should government regulations be adjusted or should a known outbreak within the conference facility occur.  By attending the conference and picking up a delegate badge at check-in, conference attendees agree to comply with the health and safety protocols listed above.  In addition, by receiving and wearing a GBTA Conference 2022 – Toronto badge, all delegates agree to respect each individual attendee’s comfort level of concern about the ongoing risk of infection from Covid-19. The Covid-19 virus remains in high circulation, therefore GBTA Canada advises conference delegates to make choices to protect themselves and those around them from risk or exposure to Covid-19.
